A cross-sectional survey had been done at a production unit of PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa (PT. ITP), Palimanan, Cirebon (West Java) to determine occupational hazards during the period of 2002-2003. The study used worker documentation in the Human Resources division as the main source of information. The results of the study showed that during this period, the production unit of PT. ITP employed 3,242 workers and 14 types of occupational hazards occured. Frequent cases were workers being squeezed and burised. Of the 14 types of occupational hazard, 70 sub-types were clsddified as mild occupational hazards due to human and working factors. Human factor included age of workers, long working hours, educational background and gender. These variables were significant causes influencing occupational hazards. Working factor included shift 1 which was the busiest hour. In general, occupational hazard in production unit of PT. ITP during 2002-2003 was classified as very low (0,5-1,7%) and very high (98,3-99,5%). The trend was for occupational hazard to decrease (1,7% to 0,5%) with increases occupational safety (98,3% to 99,5%).
