Survival management is needed in business, to compete in the global world. People build companies to make profits and in practice, all employess have to work hard that is done continously with a good administrative record. Facing that hard and tight competition, also in serious economic crisis (that is happened in Indonesia) a manager who have ability in survival management is needed. He must able to give a command like a military done in a war, beat a strong enemy. Tambunan (1998, 28 - 29) said, in 21th century, economic prospect of a country is identified by three conditionN, (a) its economic performance, booming, slowing down (resession) or stagnant, (b) government policy and activities of its business people such as bankers, traders, entrepreneurs, investors and customers, (c) global economiy or external environment. All of those items are a challenge in business survival management. Manager need to find solution, and this is will make he as a succes or fail manager.
