Today political party have many very important roles in Indonesia's political system. They determine not only political positions but also political conceptions in three political pillars: legislative, executive and judicial institution. Related to the political phenomena, the study on political parties has to be done by everybody who has political and social concern. But we have to be patient to understand them because of their complicated problems and dimensions. In order to understand these political parties, I would like to study their local phenomena, especially political support from their constituency. Thus study will describe the political phenomena in Surakarta since reform movement has dominated this country and multiparty system had begun.
