Prior knowledge about the preeclamsia and the application of appropriate prenatal care and management before the disease progresses to become life threatening can largely eliminate maternal mortality. The objective in most of the researches conducted in various parts of the world has been the discovery of biochemical markers and other tools such as Malondialdehyde, C-resctive protein, angiogenic factors, Activin A, Leptin, Insulin-like Growth Factor-1, and maternal Plasma Fetal DNA levels, these markers might be helpful in identifying subjects at increased risk for developing preeclamsia.
