Anaphylaxis has been recognized for more than 100 years, but it remains a condition that is difficult to predict, diagnose, and treat. Generally defined as a serious allergic reaction that is rapid in onset and may cause death,1 anaphylaxis and its potential to occur can be of great concern for patients and clinicians.
