Research on micropropagation of cactus Echinocereus morricalli was
carried out using Murashige & Skoog (MS) medium with the additional plant
growth regulators a-naphthaleneacetic acid (1, 10 µM) and Kinetin (1, 10, 100
µM). Furthermore, research was also conducted to see the different between
medium MS and medium Schenk & Hildebrandt (SH) and the effect of several
concentration of sucrose (2, 3, 4, 5%). Parameters observed were additional
fresh weight, normal shoot fresh weight, abnormal shoot fresh weight, callus
fresh weight, additional shoots, normal shoots, and abnormal shoots.
The best shoot proliferation of Echinocereus morricalli was achieved
from MS medium containing 1 µM NAA and 100 µM kinetin with 3% sucrose. |
