Data for this study are drawn from in-depth interviews with 35 new teenage mothers who had never been in, were currently involved in, or had recently exited from abusive partner relationships. The effect of partner violence on contraceptive use and pregnancy resolution are discussed as important variables in order to understand adolescent pregnancy.
