The reorganization of agriculture and food is proceeding rapidly in East Java under the auspices of indigenous firms, and in a context where consumption of high-value foods is rising rapidly. This process needs to be promoted, in part, by increased investment by agri¬food firms based in East Java Province in which the developments resulting from these investments are having profound impacts on the people and communities of Indonesia that grow, process, market and consume the foods that are being produced in this expanding regionalfood systerris. Our paper details the need methods of priority for development strategic in agribusiness, with their contribution to the regionalization of food structures, and an analysis of what some of the impacts of this transformation have been.
