Research is an important element to develop science. The research aims to reviezw the accounting research development in Indonesia. The research object is the research papers presented in Simposium Nasional Akuntansi since 1997 until 2006. The total research papers are 530. The research result shows that accounting research in Indonesia develops rapidly especially after Simposium Nasional Akuntansi running. The accounting research topic and sub topic in Indonesia relate to development dynamics of government, society, business, and accounting t high education. The most of accounting research in Indonesia uses associative research methodol9gy that observes the influence and the correlation of research variables and uses secondary and primer data. The accounting research reference in Indonesia increases a usage of Indonesia references gradually. The research shoxvs there are a continually effort and improvement of Indonesia accounting researchers to search for "accounting science truth "for Indonesia accounting development
