Isi artikel
In indonesia literatures, a great name of Nh. Dini as feminism author is undoubted. Her masterpieces, both fiction and non fiction, always are devoted to reflect her anger to men; both individual and men interest oriented tradition. The anger which is caused by woman’s position is considered be lower that man’s position in order that men could suppress women or treat women arbitrarily. Women major figures she uses as a means to protest injustice which is experienced by women, both in homes and in the society. In La Barka, the anger of woman major figure, Rina, a Javanese woman, to her husband, Bonin, is triggered by the attitude of her husband which does not show respect by treating her as object, even though Rina has played her roles as a wife and a mother well. The protest to the norms in the society which is considered unjust for women also is contained in this novel. Basically, Nh. Dini, this Javanese woman is against nurture in patriarchal system. Biological differences between men and women are not the problem. When men start to use those differences to reject their equality to women then the problem arises, then the women’s anger smolder because the advantages and the strengths of men physically shouldn’t be used to suppress women.
