Diverticula on the left side of the colon, especially in the sigmoid colon are a common occurrence in the West. However, right-sided diverticula are less common, being reported from Asian countries like China, Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore and India. Deverticula of the transverse colon are very rare with very few cases reported in literature. We report a case of perforated true diverticulum of the transverse colon in a sixty-two year-old lady.
