Systhesis of YBa2Cu3O7-x (YBCO) and YBa2 Cu3O7-x/ Ag (YBCO/Ag) superconductor usng modified melt-textured growth (MMTG) method has been done. The precursor was made by solid state reaction from Y2O3, BaCO3, and CuO2 raw materials of 99.99% purity. synthesis YBCO/Ag specimen was done by adding 10 and 30 weight percent of Ag20 powder. The specimens were tested using Meissner effect, x-rays diffraction (XRD) technique, scanning electron microscope (SEM), optical microscope (OM),electron dispersion x-rays (EDX), and four point probe method. The results showed that all the tasted speciments were superconductor materials by showing superconductivity phenomenon at liquid nitrogen temprature, and diffraction pattern of sharply peak. The sintered specimen exhibits somewhat porous, fine-grained, and randomly oriented microstructure. By contrast, the melted specimen shows a dense and hugh-alligned microstructure consisting of long, plate-sharp grains. The plates were identified as YBCO phase. Another precipitated phase inside YBCO phase was known as Y2BaCuO5 (211) and Ag phase. The critical temprature, Tc = 91 K for all the specimens and did not change significantly.The crirical current density obtained are 3.98, 143.32 and 282.64 A.cm pankat -2 for CSIN, YM-Ag2O, YM-10Ag2O, and YM-30Ag2O speciments respectively.It is concluded that by substitution of Ag2On inside the YBCO bulk could increased the critical current density, Jc
