Electrolite membrane for application direct methanol fuel cell (DMFC) is function of ionic conductor and separator between anode and cathode. Poly (eteher-ether ketone) is one aromatic polimer which can be used to DMFC, because of its resistance to methanol ang more simply in sulfonation process in concentrated sulfuric acid.The pueposes of this experiment is to find the optimum condition of sulfonation process pf PEEK (SPEEK) with temprature sulfonation variable 40, 45, 50, 60 and 70 degree C at fixed time are three hours.The results showed that optimum of sulfonation temprature is 60 degree C, and give the characteristic as : ion exchange capacity 2.1 meq/g polymer; sulfonation degree 77%; ionic conductivity 0.045 S/cm, methanol permeability 4 x 10 pangkat -10 cm kubik/s, sweeling water 15%, sweeling methanol 18% and relative selectivity 3.9
