Design of the inductive model superconducting Fault Current Limiter (SFCL) prototype has been conducted.The inductive model SFCL prototype was designed with a tranformator topology, having a primary coils of Copper wire and the secondary coils being the tube of superconductor made of YBCO material.The SFCL simulation have been carried out on a voltage of Vs = 3000 volt, the alternating current frequency of w = 50 Hz and the circuit load of RL = 1250 omega. When the SFCL is applied on a circuit without load and the SFCL being in the non-resistive state, then the curent of Is = (3.3-9.1) x 10 pangkat -1 A.Thus the current reduction is of (2.9-1.3) x 10 pangkat 7 times. When the SFCL is applied on a circuit with load of RL = 1250 omega and the SFCL being in the non-resistive state, then the current in the circuit is Is = 2.4 A. But, on the resistive state, the current can be reduced to be Is = (2.9-6.6) x 10 pangkat -1 A. Thus, the current is reduced to 3.6 until 8.3 times.The SFCL prototype can be applied as a circuit guard against the fault current due to the short circuit.
