This paper will discuss about controlling hardware using personal computer. The main topic of this paper is how to manage input-output signals regarding on the choosing of the correct port for some specific cases. This paper gives many descriptions of the ports and a few of examples. The advantages of each input will be given, so by considering those fact the right port can be chosen for some specific needs.DB9 port (serial port) and DB25 port (parallel port) both of them can be used for input and output. By adding a small circuit, an analog input can be fed to them. DB15 port (joystick/game port) can be used just for input, but this port can be used for four analog inputs and easier to use than the two ports before. The port doesn't need additional electric circuit, and gives higher resolution.
