Isi artikelThis article starts from Holz-Miinttiiri's theory of "translational acting" which has systematically thrown new light on the relation between source and target text. This relation depends mainly on the aim or "commission" (in the present author's terminology: "skopos") of the translational action. If the content of the message to be transmitted is viewed as a "scene" and the ensuing text as its "frame" the translator's task may be described as a culture-sensitive iterated scenes-&-frames procedure with its intrinsic and external modifications which is meant to make the final receptor understand the "commissioner's" intention. - The translational procedure ("acting") is subsequently analysed in a top-down manner.
