Beginning a new year is often heralded as something akin to a clean sheet of paper—a fresh start. Resolutions are made anew—often to be broken after a month or two . . . but that is another story. For technology pundits, a new year is often a time to look back at what we have accomplished (Has Moore’s Law once again prevailed? Has the Tablet PC gained credibility? Is Microsoft’s stock price up?) and set a course, or at least set some expectations, for the coming year.
