The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Office of the Inspector General (OIG) has released its Work Plan for fiscal year 2003. This 90- page document outlines the focus of the Office of Audit Services (OAS), the Office of Evaluations and Inspections (OEI), the Office of Investigations (OI), and the Office of Counsel to the Inspector General (OCIG). It is within this document that the planned upcoming “critical” projects are described. The following are the major foci outlined in the introduction to this work plan.
