The theory of constraints (TOG), initiated by Dr. Eliyahu Goidrati, is a management philosophy based on the principle of achieving continuous improvement by focusing on the system constraint. A system constraint will limit the performance of system, thus all efforts should be focused at maximizing tile performance of the constraint. Linear programming can be used as a technique in the TOG process of continuous improvement.
