Isi artikelEvaporator is an equipment to thicken solution by vaporizing a part of solvent. Manual calculation requires a lot of time and high accuracy because it involves several equations and variables. The writer aims at making a computer program to find out the area evaporator N-effect. The procedures to make this program are first, an Algorithm Choosing Design Variable (ALGPUPSG.EXE.) be used to make sequence of equation and design variable. Second, this output be used to arrange an information system. Third, this system information is utilized to make an EVABWF.BAS program. Design variable is chosen to control the equation, so that is become convergent. The advantage of this program is that user can obtain the area an evaporator more easily and quickly. The user only need to insert 7 inputs, namely: sum of evaporator effect (N), weight fraction feed (XF), weight fraction product (Xl), feed temperature (TF), steam pressure (PS), the last effect pressure (PN), solute weight (SU) or solvent weight (LF).
