Srikaya leaves (Annona squamosa L) are very potential for medication. Many diseases including inflammation and cancer could be treated with srikaya leaves. Unfortunately, they are rarely used for medication in our community. The objective of this study is to learn anticancer activity of70% ethanol extract and chloroform fraction of srikaya leaves in order to inhibit HeLa cells growth. Extraction was performed with maseration method using 70% ethanol and followed by fractionation with chloroform. Cytotoxicity test of 70% ethanol extract and chloroform fraction were perfomed with MIT (3 - (4,5 dimetiltiazol - 2 - yl) - 2,5 difenil tetrazolinum bromide) method and viable HeLa cells were counted with incubating the cells and sample test solution for twenty four hour in vitro. Data were obtained as percent of death with linearregressiou using probit table to get LCso values. Citotoxicity test obtained from 70% ethanol extract and chlorofonn fraction showed that Annona squamosa leaves 1laVe cytotoxic effect on HeLa cells. Therefore, they could be developed to be cancer drug in the future.
