When organizations look at the time and expense associated with seeking accreditation, the decision to go forward is often based on strategic positioning. There are internal and external positioning strategies associated with choosing to become an accredited organization. A future column (planned for Volume 14, Issue 5) will focus on internal strategies and rationales. This column provides an overview ofseveral external strategies that more commonly affect an organization’s decision to become accredited.
