Binary Adaptive Resonance Theory (ART1) has good properties which is suitable for many applications such as data clustering, part-machine grouping in Group Technology, pattern classifier, pattern recogniser, adaptive control, machine process and tool wear rnonitoiing, etc. By incorporating fuzzy logic into ART 1, the capability of the ARTI has been improved that it. can be used to process such continuous data from 0 to 1, instead of a binary data as in original ARTI Furthermore, the analog (continuous) data can be processed by scalling these data into continuous data from 0 to 1. This paper proposes a basic algorithm of fuzzy ARTI neural network.
