The goal of this research is to develop a prototype of people search by using Metaphone algorithm and fuzzydatabase. metaphone algorithm can find names which sound alike. Because many names sound a like, to improve the accuracy, fuzzy logic is applied. This research starts by collecting information in Metaphone algorithm and fuzzy membership function. Based on the information, Metaphone algorithm for Indonesian is designed. As the results, anti metaphone algorithm is introduced. This algorithm uses vowels where in the original algorithm was excluded. This suits the characteristic of Indonesian name. The accuracy gained is 98%.
