This paper desrcibes how lesson observation can be used for ESOL, teacher development at both the preservice teacher education stage as well as at the inservice stages. First, a distinction will be made between teacher training and teacher development with special reference to camerron. Second, an observation model for ESOL teacher development will be suggested.
