Isi artikel
The classic American struggle between the public and corporate interest is perhaps nowhere better illustrated than in the decades-long struggle between the tobacco industry and advocates for public health. The Master Settlement Agreement reached in November 1998 created the potential for significant new investment in tobacco prevention and control. As state funding battles continue across the country today, tobacco control activists have an opportunity to create programs and policies that can reduce the health, social, and economic damage caused by tobacco products.
