Isi artikelThis article report on research conducted in the Department of linguistic and english language at Lancaster University and supported by the Art and Humanities Research Council of the U.K. 'START' (Skills Training And its Relevants to Teach) examined some of the teaching procedures and practices followed by teacher of non-linguistic skill (classical singing, table tennis, and flight simulation) and identified how these procedures and practices could potentially be applied ti the teahcing a foreign languages. The context for the research is briefly outlined and the methodology of the study described in this article. Rhe major part of the article discusses the finding inthe key area of error corection: explicit other-repair, identify potensial trouble-sources before they occur, modeling, and developing critical thingking in students.
