Al, people living urban and rural areas need clean water. Some people in rural areas even use untreated irrigation water as their domestic water regardless the quality. To overcome this problem, research and development of very simple water treatment instalation (IPPASS) was conducted at Margawati Garut West Java. The IPASS operated [roperly and is used by the people living surrounding the area. The prototype showed to be effective and decreased turbidity up to 80%, color 73%, iron 42%, organic matter 60% and coli form bacteria 81%. Based on the chemical and phisical parameters, the threated watyer is suitable for drinking water, but biologically, it is recommended that the threated water is to be boiled before used as drinking water.
