The book of job is on face value probably one of the least likely candidates among all the books of the Bible to contribute to a biblical understanding of mission. as wisdom writing from the late pre-Christian area, when nationalism and exclusivity were on the rise in the Jewish faith-community, job simply does not yield any insights in mission in the traditional sense of the word.
