The stupendous growth of the Pentecostal movement, with an estimated 450 million adherents today, has had a great impact on all parts of wotld Christianity. In the words of Harvey Cox, this movement was "a religion made to travel" "The globalization of Pentecostalism" and the reality of a Pentecostal Upsurge have implications both for the development of theology and for the ways in which the churches worldwide do mission across cultural and geographical boundaries.
