The thesis focuses on political radicalism process of the Democratic Poeple Party 9Partai Rakyat Demokrat, PRD), a political party that participated inthe 1999 general election. From the beginning, the PRD declared itself as an opposition party againts Soeharto's new order regime. Inthe social science terminology radicalms has two meaning: first, social and polotical thoughts and movement that want to build the world a new by annibilation or total destruction of the roots of social evil; and second, programs to build popular social, political and economic system. Te characteristic of radical movement is revolutionary (not evolutionary, reform or gradual change), so this movement is never popular to status quo regimes.
