Data collecting is carried out by examining a number of publications on scientific study results. “Majalah LAPAN and Warta LAPAN” publications issued during 1994-1997 are taken as data cources of this study. While technical analysis is done by applying non-parametric statistic”Chi-square test” with alpha = 0,05. This study concludes that there is a disparity in the scientific productivity performed by male and female researchers. In this regard, male researchers demonstrate more productive than female researchers. This finding is caused by the fact that female researchers are less involed in researh activities compared to their counterparts. On the ba¬sis of this finding, it is suggested that appropriate meassures need to be taken to optimize intellectual capability of female researchers so that they can improve their productivity for the benefit of the country.
