As an elementary teacher turned teacher educator. I appreciate the many current calls for listening to the voices of teachers in the educational reform debate, Siybded passionately and resoundingly in one recent book. Theachers the missing voice in education, these calls warrant the attention of university based as well as school based teachers. Who i wondered while teaching elementary school is ready to listen to me describe and contemplate the hardships of teaching mostly oiirm bib white children in a large city ? Who will care about and listen to our success , while also hearing my elementary students' voices call out about the disenfranchised lots they drew in life ?
