Communication, information, and education is one of the cheapest and most eflective effort to prevent HIV/AIDS and STD. One of the effective approach in KIE is Peer Education is an activity conducted to develop the knowledge, attitude and behavior of target group. The activities accomplished by the peer group member itse of Peer Education is considered more effective because only various smaller communications resistance happens compared to non-peer group educator: The research objective was to analyze the effectiveness olpeer education in giving information of HIV/AIDS and STD to sexual workers in Jarak prostitution. The information become an inputfor the related institution, so they can use it in completing the >preading of health information especially among sexual workers. The descriptive research was conducted in "Jarak" prostitution complex with 9 peer educator and 18 sexual workers persons as samples. The samples were taken by purposive sampling. The variables contains of respondents demographic characteristic, education level, knowledge H1V/AIDS and STD, way to forwarding the information, resistance, peer educator' length, and effectiveness within forwarding the information. Data presented in the tables offi-equency and percentage, crossed tables, and also meaningful story spreading until the conclusions can be drawn. The sum of peer educator was degradated from 40 to 9 people. During the process they experienced some resistance such as least leeway of their own, difficult acceptance byfriend of profession and also their pimp. Although the mount of knowledge in all PSK still lower to hit the HIV/AIDS and STD but they execute the precaution by using condom. By all the PKS they were taught to ask each and every client to using condom. The reach worksfrom 9 the peer educator still not yet wide. Meaning, every peer educator only propagate the information to 5 people of .friend their profession. So that quantitatively the effectiveness of peer educator was still less than 9.5%. In qualitative, the effectiveness of peer educator also still low. There is only I peer educator who done the duty much better then others. There.fore, the Peer Education need to increase their programs so all the PKS will knew and learn all about HIV/AIDS and STD.
